NEW HABITAT AREAS

Year 6 have selected their locations, planned their habitats and researched the living things they want to attract. Today we visited our local woodland to collect natural resources and began laying out the areas. Building begins next week.

INSECT BLOCKS

Year 5 made these fantastic insect blocks, finding out about a range of living things along the path.

This wasn’t easy, not all the plants were in flower and we had to look at the leaf shape.image

The flowers we identified were – Black Knapweed, Common Cat’s Ear, Cleavers, Lady’s Bedstraw, Red Dead-nettle, Yellow Rattle, Germander Speedwell, Red Clover, Bird’s-Foot Trefoil, Common Sorrel, Cow Parsley, Ragged Robin, Oxeye Daisy and Devil’s Bit Scabious.

We were amazed at how many we found.
